Explore our highly-demanded industrial materials engineered to international standards.
In modern infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, hot rolled (HR) steel coils serve as the structural backbone of critical infrastructure projects. However, the commercial and technical requirements for these materials have undergone a massive shift. General-grade structural steels are no longer sufficient to meet the challenges of modern construction. Heavy engineering demands Custom Weldable HR Coils that offer both high load-bearing performance and superior ease of welding.
Weldability in HR coils represents more than just a material property; it is a vital safety and processing parameter. When large structures, pipeline systems, or container ships are welded, high temperatures alter the microstructure of the steel adjacent to the weld pool. Poorly engineered steel results in brittle heat-affected zones (HAZ), micro-cracking, and structural failure. The current global sourcing trend prioritizes low carbon equivalent (CEV) formulations, precision dimensional tolerances, and high clean-steel index configurations.
By designing hot rolled coils with meticulously balanced carbon-manganese ratios and micro-alloying elements (such as niobium, vanadium, and titanium), advanced manufacturers provide custom solutions that withstand high heat input welding processes without compromising tensile strength or ductility.
Global procurement managers face the dual challenge of balancing costs and guaranteeing long-term safety. When sourcing weldable HR coils, key variables including grain size, micro-cleanliness, yield ratio, and low-temperature impact toughness must be met consistently.

From deep-sea platforms to urban skyscrapers, our customized weldable HR coils deliver reliable strength.
High-rise buildings, airports, and sports complexes require massive structural components. Our custom weldable HR coils are processed into C-shaped channels, angle steel, and H-beams, facilitating on-site welding operations without the risk of stress fractures.
Pipelines carrying oil, gas, and steam are subject to severe internal pressure and fluctuating environmental temperatures. Formulating weldable coils with low sulfur and low phosphorus elements prevents hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC).
Excavator chassis, crane booms, crane runways, and freight container systems are heavily loaded dynamic environments. Using custom micro-alloyed weldable HR steel minimizes dead weight while maximizing safety factors.
Located in the industrial hub of Tangshan, Hebei Province—the global epicenter of high-performance steel manufacturing—our modern production complex integrates smart manufacturing concepts to guarantee consistent metallurgical parameters. Our close proximity to the seaport allows us to offer optimized supply chain solutions.
Our production facility lies just 150 kilometers from the major Tianjin seaport and 150 kilometers from Beijing. This central location in the Bohai Bay region ensures domestic land transport times of less than 24 hours, meaning shipments are protected from moisture exposure and handle minimal transfers.
Leveraging Industry 4.0 automation, our production facilities feature real-time temperature tracking during hot rolling, automated cooling control for optimal microstructure, and online thickness scanners. This technology allows us to maintain strict control over dimensions, ensuring minimal thickness deviation across the entire width of the coil.

The weldability of hot-rolled steel is primarily determined by its chemical composition, specifically represented by the Carbon Equivalent Value (CEV). A lower CEV prevents the formation of hard, brittle martensite in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) during rapid cooling post-welding. We control the CEV below 0.38% for our structural weldable grades by optimizing the balance of carbon, manganese, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, and nickel. This ensures exceptional weldability even in demanding environments, reducing the risk of cold cracking and eliminating the need for expensive preheating steps.
Micro-alloying elements such as Niobium (Nb), Vanadium (V), and Titanium (Ti) are added in trace amounts (typically less than 0.10% combined) to refine the grain size of the steel during the thermo-mechanical controlled rolling process (TMCP). Fine grains improve both the yield strength and the low-temperature impact toughness. Crucially for welding, titanium forms stable titanium nitrides (TiN) at high temperatures, which restricts grain growth in the HAZ, maintaining high fracture toughness and preventing structural weakness at weld joints.

Logistics efficiency and exposure control are key factors in protecting raw steel products from coastal atmospheric moisture. Being situated in Tangshan, Hebei, our factory is only 150 kilometers from the Tianjin port. This short transport distance minimizes the exposure of hot rolled steel coils to moisture and salt during land transit. We utilize heavy-duty, moisture-proof export packaging, including steel wrapping rings and silica gel desiccants, to prevent rust and corrosion before your order reaches its destination.
Yes. Hansheng offers extensive custom processing options to support your production lines. We can supply coil thicknesses ranging from 1.2mm to 20mm and widths from 600mm up to 2000mm. Additionally, we provide precision inline slitting down to narrow steel strips (minimum width 20mm), custom sheet decoiling to designated lengths, and skin-passing (temper rolling) to ensure optimal flatness and surface appearance.
Our quality assurance protocol includes rigorous testing for every production batch. We perform mechanical testing (tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and Charpy V-notch impact testing at designated temperatures), chemical analysis (spectroscopy verification of alloy content), dimensional checks, and ultrasonic testing to identify internal defects. We welcome third-party inspections (SGS, Bureau Veritas) to verify compliance before shipment.
